Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church is collecting empty inkjet cartridges for recycling. We can receive up to $4.00 for each cartridge recycled.
You found a plastic bag with a label reading “Used Inkjet cartridges for recycling @ Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church” in you narthex boxes. Inside the plastic bag was a page showing the inkjet cartridges that are accepted by the cartridge recycling center.
Cartridges can be deposited in our collection bin located in the narthex (church entry area), to the right of the front doors. Simply place your old cartridge in a plastic sandwich bag (or the bag you found in your box) and deposit it in our collection bin.
Most businesses simply throw their empty cartridges in the garbage so check at your workplace to see if they would donate their would-be garbage.
A reminder, in light of the recent celebration of Earth Day: in addition to raising money for HRLC, recycling inkjet cartridges has a positive impact on the environment. Consider the following: Nearly 1 million inkjets are thrown into our landfills every day. Less than 5% of the cartridges produced are recycled. It takes 1000 years for the plastic to decompose.
Questions about the program, or requests for additional bags can be directed to Carolyn Keck.
